Tallowwood Timber Flooring

Tallowwood grows in the coastal areas and coastal ranges from the Hunter River in New South Wales to Maryborough in Queensland.

Appearance:  Heartwood yellowish brown with a tinge of olive green. Sapwood usually distinctively paler. Texture moderately coarse but even. Grain often interlocked. Growth rings not easily distinguished. Pinhole borer marks often present. Water rings sometimes present.

Common Uses:  Flooring (particularly dance floors), general construction, heavy engineering structures, decking and cladding.
